After having mentioned the research works of the school of bordeaux concerning the most outstanding features of a certain amount of morphological measurements connected 70 sportsmen (adolescents and adults), it is shown how significant the anthropometric datas can be. Especially, the analysis based on the observation of a statistically significant sample of young females shows the links between morphological datas and different sports special fields and performance level. Taking the functional anthropometric profile into account is, in conclusion, an important component of the process of evalutation, detection and help leading to young sportswomen selection.

Après avoir rappelé les travaux de l'école bordelaise qui étudient les caractéristiques d'un certain nombre de mensurations morphologiques chez les adolescents et adultes sportifs masculins, il est montre l'intérêt qu'il faut attacher aux données anthropométriques. En particulier, à partir d'un échantillon statistiquement significatif de jeunes féminines il est recherché les rapports qui existent entre données morphologiques et différentes spécialités sportives et niveau de performance. La prise en compte du profil anthropométrique fonctionnel est en conclusion un élément important du processus d'évaluation, de détection et d'aide à la sélection de la jeune sportive.
