EI helps provide, an organisation, with a comprehensive understanding of its environment. This concept aimed at helping in their decision processes improves the management of informational flows within the organisation. Since two individuals will not necessarily have the same interpretation of the same information, it is then necessary to have an information system that will help the user find information relevant to his needs. We are proposing a model based on the identification of the needs of the user that integrates his individual characteristics, his activities, his objectives, and the usage context of the results found as well as the set of information available. The model helps to better understand users' expectations in terms of their evolutions either with the system, in their working domain or in their information needs. This model is then transformed into a graphical interface developed for use with the information search engine developed within the research team SITE.

L'intelligence économique permet de fournir à l'entreprise une compréhension fine de son environnement. Ce concept destiné à aider le processus de décision améliore la gestion des flux informationnels de l'entreprise. Puisqu'une information n'a pas forcément la même signification pour deux individus, il est nécessaire d'avoir un système d'information capable d'aider l'utilisateur à trouver des informations pertinentes en fonction de ses besoins. Nous proposons, donc, un modèle fondé sur les besoins informationnels de l'utilisateur qui intègre les caractéristiques individuelles de l'utilisateur, ses activités, son objectif de recherche, le contexte d'utilisation des résultats et l'ensemble d'informations disponibles. Le modèle permet de mieux connaître les attentes des usagers du système en termes d'évolution de leurs connaissances. Ce modèle est implanté dans une interface graphique conçue pour le moteur de recherche d'informations déjà développé au sein de l'équipe SITE.
