The major objective of this research work is to analyse through phenomenon of tradition modernity the secrets of the indian modern housing on the life style of middle class living in group housing built by dda in new delhi. According to the indian style, the utilization of space is correlated of the traditionnel pattern of joint family. It's interesting to see how according to a specific model of space : the dda flot. The inhabitants successeded in changing this space, in gining a different interpretation, forgetting their own housing. Doles the fact "to put" inhabitants in housing which bas other cultural pattern than those of the traditional indian society bring a real change in the social life ? the subject of group housing chosen as frawowork for this doctorate involve to analyze the urban politic and the mechanisms of the evolution done in delhi. It's important to know that, first of all to get a good comprehension of the results given by this habitat on the planification than to give a better interpretation of evolution of to life style of the population which is concerned it to inhabitants and the way of life in dda flot.

L'objectif de cette recherche est d'analyser a travers les phenomenes de tradition modernite les convergences de l'habitat indien moderne sur les pratiques et modes de vie de la classe moyenne habitant dans les immeubles gouvernementaux a new-delhi. L'utilisation de l'espace a l'indienne est liee au modele traditionnel de la grande famille hierarchisee. Il est interessant de voir comment a partir d'un modele spatial impose par un plan conventionnel (celui de la dalhi developement anthoriz). Les habitants vont reussir a transformer cet espace a l'interpenetrer pour le constituer en habitat, leur habitat. Le fait de "mettre" des habitants dans des logements correspondant a d'autres modeles culturels que ceux imposes par la societe indienne traditionnelle va-t-il constituer un changement profond de la vie sociale? la theorie de l'habitat collectif choisi comme cadre de ce doctorat merite l'analyse de la politique urbaine et des principes de son evolution mise en oeuvre a dalhi. Il s'agit de comprendre les incidences que ce style d'habitat va occasionner d'une part au niveau de la planification et d'autre part au niveau des modes de vie de la population concernee, qu'il s'agit de l'habitant et de l'habiter.
