Abstract EN:

In the first section, we made a sociological critic of some papers on islam in france. Following this, we elaborated a conceptual and problematic scope specific to the aim of our study. In the second section, we have analysed the relationship between the evolution of north african immigration, the settlement of north african immigrants (thus, the hypothesis of impossible or mythical return) and the transplanted islam in france. We realized that this settlement, as it is progressively becoming a reality, is accompanied by a development of islamic social structures (mosques, place of worship, islamic cultural centre and bookshop) in addition to a great number of associations and organizations having for objective, the transmission of islamic message to immigrant muslims and their children. In the third section, we have point out the fact that these structures have favoured the emergence of islam among the immigrant children. But thi s membership is of different levels starting from a simple declaration of faith or the attachment to a set of codes. These different forms of membership have led to different points of view and attitude towards integration as a social an d culturel process.

Abstract FR:

Dans la premiere partie, nous avons esquisse une critique sociologique de certains ecrits sur l'islam en france et nous avons elabore, a la suite de cela, un cadre conceptuel et une problematique specifiques a notre objet de recherche. Dans la deuxieme partie, nous avons analyse la relation entre l'evolution de l'immigration maghrebine, la sedentarisation des immigres maghrebins (d'ou l'hypothese du retour impossible ou mythique aux pays d'origine) et l'islam transplante en france. Nous avons constate que cette sedentarisation, a mesure qu'elle s'affirme, s'accompagne d'un developpement de structures islamiques de socialisation (mosquees, lieux de culte, centres culturels et librairies islamiques). Dans la troisieme partie, nous avons montre que ces structures ont favorise l'islamisation des "beurs", mais cette adhesion a plusieurs formes allant de la simple profession de foi ou de l'attachement a un ensemble de coutumes a la pratique rigoureuse et totale des codes. Ces differentes formes d'adhesion se traduisent par divers points de vue et attitudes a l'egard de l'integration comme politqiue et comme processus social et culturel.
