The military industry is discussed here in as a privileged approach of western civilization. The historical conditions of it's composition and functioning are initialy observed in relations to the development of technics, of the state and political institutions, and of the industry. Next only, the transformation of the status in 1990 of the last ten arsenals of the french state can be analysed in it's internal effects (pay-structure, professional categories, industrial strategy, organization of work) and it's consequences also with the present day relations between the political, military and industrial spheres.

L'industrie militaire est ici consideree comme un angle d'approche privilegie de la civilisation occidentale. Les conditions historiques de sa constitution et de son fonctionnement sont d'abord observees en rapport avec le developpement des techniques, de l'etat et des institutions politiques, et de l'industrie. Ensuite seulement la transformation du statut des dis derniers arsenaux de l'etat francais en 1990 peut etre analysee dans ses effets internes (structure salariale, groupes professionnels, strategie industrielle, organisation du travail) et dans ses enseignements quant aux liens actuels entre les champs politique, industriel et militaire.
