Authority relationships are analysed inside the charismatic movement as a whole and more particularly within the large charismatic communities in france since their foundation to either their integration in the historical churches and in the society or to the establisment of charismatic chruches, from 1973 to 1986. The study also tries to sort out criteria which have allowed the authority to be identified, chosen and established, and the power of the leaders of this movement to be exerted. The method of "content analysis" is used in interviews of layer people as well as leaders, especially thoses belonging to large communes both protestant and catholic, compared with a theorical analysis of charisma. The development of the subject includes : -the analysis of the legitimations involved in the gathering, the organization and the government of a group of men and women; -the analysis of the criteria of the actual charismatic fonction of these group leaders and a proposal of caracteristics for a "director charism". It shows the historical and social role of this "renewal" especially through its integration in the catholic church and how it provides in the contemporary french society with valours and meaning. In these different domains,we offer a few comparisons with what we had the opportunity to observe in the usa in 1984.

Il s'agit de l'analyse des rapports d'autorite a l'interieur du mouvement charismatique contemporain en france, appele aussi "renouveau", essentiellement au sein de grandes communtes charismatiques de leur fondation a leur maturite (assimilation progressive dans l'eglise catholique, ou creation d'eglises charismatiques). 1973-1986. Nous cherchons a montrer sur la base de quels criteres se reconnait, se choisit et s'etablit l'autorite, et s'exerce le pouvoir, des responsables de ce mouvement, a partir de l'analyse de contenu d'interviews de "gens de la base", puis le responsables de ce mouvement charismatique, notamment de grandes communautes de vie, protestante et catholiques. Quelques developpements : -analyser les legitimations en jeu dans le regroupement, l'organisation, et le gouvernement d'un groupe d'hommes et de femmes (parfois d'enfants); -analyser les criteres de la fonction proprement charismatique des chefs de ces groupes et proposer les caracteristiques d'un "charisme de direction"; -reperer les repercussions sociales eventuelles du fonctionnement de ces groupes "spirituels"; -montrer le role historique et social de ce "renouveau", en particulier par son integration dans l'eglise catholique et, avec elle, comme donneurs de valeurs et de sens dans la societe francaise contemporaine. En ces differents domaines, nous proposerons quelques comparaisons avec ce que nous avons pu observer aux etats-unis en 1984.
