Researching on the constitution of identity of masculine lesbians, within gender representations and a number of stigmat ising discourses, leads to confirming its interactional and mobile character (in both history and individual history). Not an identity of the essence any longer, but one to be addressed in its dialectic between the social and the personal, and in which masculinity is expressed as organising agent, way to be sexed and criteria for belonging to a community. An identity not to be rigidly set in an essence any more, but to be considered as a product of social relations in which the subject loses some of its individuality, as he gains recognition for belonging to a category.

L'etude de la constitution de l'identite des lesbiennes masculines, au sein des representations sociales de sexe et des discours stigmatisants divers, en confirme le caractere interactionnel et mouvant (dans l'histoire et dans l'histoire individuelle). Une identite non plus de substance, mais a apprehender dans une dialectique entre le social et le personnel ou la masculinite s'exprime a la fois comme agent organisationnel. Maniere d'etre sexue et critere d'appartenance a une communaute. Une identite non plus figee dans une essence, mais produit d'un rapport social ou le sujet perd evidemment de son individualite dans ce qu'il gagne comme appartenance categorielle reconnue.
