In the society where the young men of the projects live, the money is the plinth of the new citizenship. Yet, they are excluded by the money, at first because they have a popular condition, then, because they live in awful housing, and finally, because more than the other individuals, they are concerned by the unemployment, under employed or limited to precarious employments on account of marks which they cumulate. Nevertheless, to exist socially, to be recognized and thus integrated into the consumer society where they were born and grew up, they have the major conviction that only the money in great quantity will make the deal. It should be said that, the mass-media maintain the picture of an existential ideal where luxury is a sign of consecration. They dream of fortune then, to live or “to shine”, thousand and one manners, legal or not, will be considered.

Dans la société où vivent les jeunes hommes issus des quartiers populaires de type grand ensemble, l'argent est le socle de la nouvelle citoyenneté. Or, ils sont exclus par l'argent, d'abord parce qu'ils sont de condition populaire, ensuite, parce qu'ils résident à l'intérieur d'un habitat détestable, et enfin, parce que plus que les autres individus, ils sont touchés par le chômage, sous-employés ou limités à des emplois précaires à cause de stigmates qu'ils cumulent. Toutefois, pour exister socialement, être reconnus et donc intégrés à la société de consommation dans laquelle ils sont nés et ont grandi, ils ont la conviction profonde que seul l'argent en grande quantité fera l'affaire. Il faut dire que, les mass-médias entretiennent l'image d'un idéal existentiel où le luxe est un signe de consécration. Ils rêvent de fortune alors, pour vivre ou " briller ", mille et une manières, légales ou illégales, vont être envisagées.
