Abstract EN:

The number of french choreographers has increased from to in 1970 to over 200 in 1987. Only after classical dancers and choreographers had broken away from the official institutions did they really begin to explore the world of dance in its full social scope. After the first establishments in la rochelle and grenoble and the arrival of carolyn carlson in 1973, a new generation of french choreographers appeared, schooled the american way. From then on, modern dance began to clear a path for itself in france as a social entity, alongside academic dance. But who are these creators who in 1980 stand foremost on the modern dance scene in france? our purpose is to associate cases over the past 10 years, the 80's, in order to measure the impact these choreographers have had, there position regarding the other actors on the artistic scene (other artists, the audience, dancers, critics) and to establish the cleavage(s) each of them may have brought about in the history of modern dance in france.

Le nombre de choregraphes francais est passe de 10 en 1970 a plus de 200 en 1987. Ce n'est que lorsque les danseurs, les choregraphes classiques ont rompu avec les institutions officielles que la conquete de l'espace social de la danse a vraiment commence. Les premieres implantations ( la rochelle; grenoble ) et, en 1973, la venue de carolyn carlson, permettent de faire apparaitre une premiere generation de choregraphes francais formes a l'ecole americaine. A partir de cette situation, la danse contemporaine va commencer a se frayer un espace social en france, a cote de la danse academique. Mais qui sont les createurs qui tiennent -en 1980- l' avant-scene de la danse contemporaine francaise? nous mettons en relation differents cas pour faire le point dans ces 10 annees ecoulees -les annees 80- sur les impacts de ces choregraphes, leurs positions par rapport aux autres acteurs du milieu artistique ( autres artistes, public, danseurs, critiques ) et distinguer le(s) point(s) de ruptures que chacun d'entre eux a pu creer dans l'histoire de la danse contemporaine francaise.
