The objective of this research is the analysis of rui barbosa's political thought during the period of transition of the monarchy untill the republic in brazil (1870-1926), trying to contribute from the delimitation of that theorical paradigm, to the study of the relations between the liberalism and the democracy in the country.

L'objectif de cette recherche est l'analyse de la pensee politique de rui barbosa, pendant la periode de transition du regime monarchique au regime republicain au bresil (1870-1926), essayant a partir de la delimitation de cette matrice theorique de contribuer a l'etude des relations entre le liberalisme et la democratie dans le pays.
