This thesis is about the national integration of foreign born husbands (coe) married to french and german women. Based on a qualitative sociological method, the thesis analyses the relationships between the social structure in its juridical dimension and the attitude of the so-called husbands (coe). The analysis focuses on the link between citizenship and nationality - two differents approaches in france and germany - on the one hand ; and different experiences of mixed marriage on the other. The typology elaborated in this respect shows three forms of integration : integration as a foreigner, integration as a national, integration as a citizen. The national, professional, conjugal, and cultural aspect are specified for each of these types. Even though the three forms of integration are identical in france and germany, differences occur in the way they are expressed and that because of the juridical differences in the two nations.

Cette these porte sur l'integration nationale des conjoints d'origine etrangere (coe) de francaises et d'allemandes. A partir d'une enquete qualitative, elle cherche a mettre en relation la structure sociale dans sa dimension juridique et le comportement des coe. C'est ainsi qu'est mise en perspective le lien entre la citoyennete et la nationalite, deux conceptions differentes en france et en allemagne d'une part, et les differentes facons de vivre le mariage mixte de l'autre. Les resultats de l'enquete ont permis d'elaborer une typologie qui met en evidence trois formes d'integration nationale : integration en tant qu'etranger, integration en tant que national et integration en tant que citoyen. Pour chaque type, les dimensions nationale, professionnelle, conjugale et culturelle ont ete distinguees. Bien qu'on retrouve les trois formes pour les coe aussi bien en france qu'en allemagne, elles s'expriment chacune selon des modes differents dans les deux societes compte tenu des differences legislatives et nationales.
