Abstract EN:

This work has been arouse by the murders of algerians intellectuals in 1994 after the violence because the democratic process was stopped (1992). After to have siting emergence of the intellectual in modern sense, this search give an position in the colonial period. Their political engagement depended of their adhesion in the national movement for denounce the colonialism, in the first, to claim the independence in the second time. In independence, the intelligentsia was propelled ahead strategy of development. This parallel between the state and the experts has influenced an largely part of the intellectuals. Have-they thinking differently of others actor (army, technocracy, popular-class) ? We have studded the participation of the intellectuals to discussions after independence for an analyse of their politic engagement.

Abstract FR:

Ce travail a été suscité par les assassinats des intellectuels en 1994 après l’installation de la violence provoqué par l’arrêt du processus électorale (1992). Après avoir situer l’émergence de l’intellectuel au sens moderne du terme, cette recherche va ensuite les positionner, pendant la période coloniale. Leur engagement politique se mesurait à leur adhésion au mouvement national en tant que dénonciateurs du colonialisme d’abord puis par leur reven-dication pour l’indépendance du pays ensuite. A l’indépendance l’intelligentsia va être propulsée au devant de la scène pour la mise en œuvre de la stratégie de développement. Ce rapprochement entre l'Etat et les "experts" ne pouvaient manquer d'influencer une grande partie des intellectuels. Mais ont-ils pensé différemment des autres acteurs (armée, technocratie, classes populaires) ? Nous avons étudier la participation des intellectuels aux débats pos-indépendance pour analyser leur engagement politique.
