Dangerousness, recent concept towards the reality it aims at delimiting, can be defined as the statistical quantification of the risk of acting out. It appears in a border location, both for the subject by questioning the uncertain passage of an impulsive violence of psychic life in a violence acted out in external reality, and for his reports to his environment, which would be threatened by his potential dangerousness. Our work sought to define the subjective stakes in the concept of dangerousness as well as its limits, but without overlooking what it covers at the community level. Thus a historic, social and medical lighting of the phenomenon of dangerousness aimed at specifying its determinants and implications for the collective. Its individual stakes were outlined from clinical observations allowing the formulation of the hypothesis of a dangerousness understood as the subjective response to a feeling of vital threat. Hypothesis declined in three distinct problematics: that of acting out as a defensive and protection response of the subject; that of a dangerousness apprehended under the angle of the death drive and its entanglement and disentanglement in the life drive. The place of care within the undertaking of dangerousness has been examined from the perspective of its prevention, its expertise and its possible treatment.

La dangerosité, concept récent au regard de la réalité qu'il vise à circonscrire, peut être définie comme la quantification statistique d'un risque de passage à l'acte. Elle apparaît dans un positionnement frontière, tant pour le sujet en questionnant le passage incertain d'une violence pulsionnelle de la vie animique à une violence agie dans la réalité externe, que dans ses rapports à son environnement, lequel serait menacé par sa potentielle dangerosité. Notre travail cherchait à cerner les enjeux subjectifs du concept de dangerosité ainsi que ses limites, sans faire l'impasse sur ce quil recouvre au niveau de la collectivité. C'est ainsi qu'un éclairage historique, social et médical du phénomène de dangerosité visait à en préciser les déterminants et les implications sur le plan collectif. Ses enjeux individuels se sont dessinés à partir d'observations cliniques permettant la formulation de l'hypothèse d'une dangerosité comprise comme réponse subjective à un sentiment de menace vitale. Hypothèse déclinée selon trois problématiques distinctes: celle du passage à l'acte en tant que réaction de défense et de protection du sujet; celle d'une dangerosité émergeant de la faillite du lien entre sujet et objet au cours de leur construction mutuelle; et celle d'une dangerosité appréhendée sous l'angle de la pulsion de mort et de son intrication et désintrication à la pulsion de vie. La place du soin au sein d'une prise en charge de la dangerosité a été interrogée selon la perspective de sa prévention, de son expertise et de son éventuel traitement.
