La signification et la logique de l'interprétation dans l'acte psychanalytique

For this research, we wish to report the specificity of the interpretation in the psychoanalysis, coming from the differential use made Freud and Lacan of the notion of meaning. Indeed, if the notion was considered by Freud in the 1900 as the primary aim of the psychoanalytic interpretation, and though Lacan also gave it a central place in the psychoanalytic act, we argue that both did not apply this concept in the same way. In other words, this gap led to a tipping point in the conceptualization of the interpretation. Finally, both Freud and Lacan’s positions on the subject can only be clarified if we take into account their respective entering in philosophy. Supporting this hypothesis will only be possible if we understand how the definition of the meaning in psychoanalysis has reopened a discussion regarding the notions of sense and meaning in the nineteenth century philosophy.

Il s’agit de rendre compte de la spécificité de l’interprétation en psychanalyse à partir de l’usage différentiel que firent Freud et Lacan de la notion de signification. En effet, si la signification était posée par Freud dès 1900 comme la visée première de l’interprétation, et que Lacan lui réservait aussi une place centrale dans l’acte psychanalytique, nous soutenons que tous deux ne faisaient pas le même usage de cette notion, et que cet écart ouvrait sur un point de bascule quant à la conceptualisation de l’interprétation. Enfin, les positions de Freud et de Lacan ne pourront s’éclairer qu’à condition d’envisager leur inscription respective dans le champ de la philosophie. Soutenir notre hypothèse ne sera donc possible qu’à condition d’entrevoir comment la définition de la signification en psychanalyse relança un débat qui traversa la philosophie du XIXème siècle concernant les notions de sens et de signification.
