The study of relationship between culture and mental disorders leads to the fact that culture affects the expressions and the meanings in pathology. Especially in africa, sets of representations can be brought out in order to interprate mental illness. However, the acculturation situation in the ivory coast tends to transform these traditional representations. They are replaced by new configurations that seems to come from several origins. The resort to the notions of fram's transformation and proping up the group allows to the understanding of the old believe's death. This way of thinking the matter over draws to realize the problems of traditionnal therapeutics.

L'etude des rapports entre culture et maladie mentale a montre que la culture influencait les expressions et la signification dans la pathologie. En afrique, en particulier, onpeut degager des ensembles de representations utilisees pour interpreter la maladie mentale. Cependant, en cote d'ivoire, la situation d'acculturation tend a modifier ces representations traditionnelles. Elles sont remplacees par de nouvelles configurations a caractere multi-referentiel. C'est a partir des notions de transformation du cadre et d'etayage groupal qu'on peut rendre compte de la mort des mythes anciens. Cette approche permet de comprendre les difficultes des therapeutiques traditionnelles.
