Abstract EN:

The mother-child relationship in moroccan society is peculiar in many ways, one being the stability of child's relation to his mother. The mother child relationship, based, from the very beginning of the latter's life, on nursing and breast-feeding, is ended, without preparation, by weaning and circumcision, whose goal is precisely to break this relation, but contribute to a stable affective link. Mother and child shape a couple from whom the father is not admitted. Together, they are a powerful unit in the social group. The child thus appears as belonging to his mother, linked to her; a part of her. The mother is investing the child, who is, for her, an object of her desire, identifying itself to maternel desire. Breast feeding on a long period of time is a very important feeding process. It appears as a mean of expressing lover and mother care. In addition, the mother is always close to her child, physically, and seldom away from him. Those physically narrow links allow for the child's sound development and integration to the group to whom he belongs. Eventually, the pathology appears as a consequence of a lack in stable relationship, closed intertwined to the mother's desi re, structurating for the child.
