This thesis's target was to analyse the social phenomenon of the parental punishment in the context of the current tunisian society. This analysis also included an investigation about punishment's impact on the tunisian child. The first chapter intended to be a round up of the historical and social context of the parental chastisement (moral principles, main interdicts and main punishments). The theoretical analysis was continued by an inquiry which was concerned by the parental opinions as much as children's points of view about parental punishment and gratification. In the final analysis, the theoretical notions were compared with practical present data in the matter of chastisement leading to the discovery of some fundamental contradictions. . .

Cette these avait pour objectif d'analyser le phenomene de la sanction parentale dans le contexte de la societe tunisienne actuelle. Cette analyse a aussi comporte l'investigation de l'impact de la punition sur l'enfant tunisien le premier chapitre s'est voulu un tour d'horizon sur le contexte historico-social de cette sanction (principes moraux, principaux interdits, principales punitions). Cette analyse theorique s'est poursuivie par une enquete sur le terrain (deuxieme partie) qui s'est autant interessee aux opinions des parents qu'a celles de leurs enfants a propos des punitions et de la sanction educative en general. En derniere analyse, les donnees theoriques furent confrontees aux donnees pratiques et actuelles de l'enquete, conduisant a la decouverte de contradictions fondamentales au sein de la societe tunisienne.
