The representation of the venezuelian primary school, as mediated in three newspapers, is explored. It is found taht the papers have an universe of thought dependent on a definite system of representations, values and beliefs or their readers. It is proposed that, with social representation as starting point, this is a plausible approach to mediated representation. The essential aim of this work i s to study the concepts, ideas and attitudes attached to venezuelan primary school in and by the venezuelan press, as well as recognize and understant the most significant regularies in mode of communication which is basically diffusion. This mode determines the form and contents of the messages concerning primary school in the press.

On explore la representation mediatique de l'ecole primaire au venezuela a travers trois corpus de presse. On trouve que les journaux ont un univers de pensee dependant d'un systeme defini de representations, de valeurs et de croyances de leurs lecteurs. Une approche possible de la representation mediatique est proposee a partir de la theorie de la representation sociale. Les buts de la recherche sont : connaitre la diffusion des concepts, idees et attitudes attachees a l'ecole primaire dans, et par la presse venezuelienne; reconnaitre et comprendre les regularites les plus significatives d'un mode de communication ayant trait a la diffusion. Ce mode determine le contenu et la forme des messages emis par la presse concernant l'ecole primaire.
