Morocco in the colonial literature was only one crucible in wich live a "fanatical" and "barbarous" population. This population have neither political organisation nor social order. This negative image of morocco before the colonization must be pursue along the nineteenth century and gives some justification for an actual colonization. This colonization begin to study and to observe the moroccan society with a "scientific" mission of morocco. But it not confine her search to those studies. The colonization try to make feel her influence through two institutions : teaching or education and medical welfar or assistance. We have given "the lighted colonization" as name for this method.

Le maroc dans la litterature coloniale n'etait qu'un creuset qui abrite une population "fanatique" et "barbare", vivant dans une anarchie sociale continuelle et n'ayant aucune organisation politique. Cette image negative du maroc pre-colonial devait se poursuivre pendant tout le dix neuvieme siecle, afin de donner par la suite, une justification pour une colonisation effective. Celle-ci commencait par une etude systematique et minutieuse de la societe marocaine avec la mission "scientifique" du maroc. Or, la colonisation ne se limitait pas au niveau de ce genre d'etudes, mais elle va essayer de faire sentir son influence a travers deux institutions auxquelles nous avons donne le nom de : colonisation "eclairee" : il s'agit la de l'enseignement et de l'assistance medicale.
