Scarifications : le sang s'écoule, les mots s'écoutent : au-delà de l'acte, le travail de la pensée

Self-harm has become a behaviour that is frequently spotted in the psychiatric clinics for adolescents. Though psychoanalytically-inspired references, we examined the symbolic and subjective scope of these self-inflicted wounds, which are part of the psychic functioning, well beyond an acting out or a mere release. We are therefore proposing to interpret scarifications as a meaningful act, intermingled in the net of adolescent psyche, an act which it is important to take up and explain through words before intending to eradicate it by any means. At a time when there is a pressing desire to rid the patient of his/her problematic behaviours, our work belongs to an opposite trend, giving back the subject modalities their full force meaning, whether conscious or inconscious. We will explore the way in which the meaning of the act affects their adolescent psychic development and how it enable them to reconstruct the pubescent and the infantile within them in a process of subjectivation.

Les scarifications sont des conduites fréquentes dans la clinique de l'adolescent en souffrance. À travers un référentiel d'inspiration psychanalytique, nous avons considéré la portée symbolique et subjective de ces blessures auto-infligées, inscrites dans le fonctionnement psychique singulier, au-delà d'un passage à l'acte, d'une stricte décharge. Aussi proposons-nous une lecture des scarifications comme un acte signifiant, pris dans les mailles du fonctionnement de la psyché adolescente. À l'heure d'un désir impérieux de débarrasser rapidement le patient de ses conduites problématiques, notre travail se pose dans un courant redonnant aux modalités du sujet toute leur puissance et leurs significations, conscientes ou inconscientes. Nous déploierons la façon dont cette signifiance de l'acte résonne dans le développement psychique adolescent, et comment, à partir d'une "représentation de peau", ils réélaborent le pubertaire et l'infantile dans une dynamique de subjectivation.
