Le socialisme francais face a la question du pouvoir. Un siecle de debat; six ans d'exercice du pouvoir 1981-1986

The same question has gone through the whole history of the french socialist party: the power, what for? would it be conquered from outside by loying the "great night" or from inside by exercising a bit of responsabilities within the wheels of the power (parliamentary support, ministerialism. . . ). This temptation of the power has been in the heart of the various crisis of unity and identity that have shaken the socialist party since its origins before its unity in 1905 and that have pointed out, everytime, the inadequacy of the doctrine and the unavoidable exercise of power. So, throughout the xxth century, socialist evolution has faced the same dillemma: how to preserve the theory of the party while being in the heart of the power authorities? as the socialist party failed to resolve this dilemma since the beginning, from 1881 to 1986, it was going to live through again the same tensions in its relations with the executive power so that these relations could be analysed as the reflection and the continuation of this problem of power. Consequently, we can understand the attitude of the socialist party that tries to show more and more its independence towards the government while hoping to play an influential role.

L'histoire du mouvement socialiste francais a ete raversee par la meme question: le pouvoir, pour quoi faire? serait-il conquis de l'exterieur, en preparant le "grand soir" ou de l'interieur en exercant une parcelle de responsabilites au coeur des rouages du pouvoir (soutien parlementaire, ministerialisme. . . ). Cette tentation du pouvoir a ete au coeur des differentes crises d'unite et d'identite qui ont secoue le parti socialiste depuis ses origines, avant meme son unite de 1905, et qui a chaque fois a mis en lumiere l'inadequation de la doctrine et de la pratique inevitable du pouvoir. Ainsi, tout au long du xxe siecle, le mouvement socialiste a ete confronte au meme dilemme: comme preserver intacte la "theorie" du parti tout en etant "installe" dans les instances du pouvoir? faute d'avoir resolu ce dilemme des les origines, le parti socialiste, dans ses rapports avec le pouvoir de 1981 a 1986 allait revivre les memes tensions, si bien que les relations ps-executif peuvent s'analyser comme le reflet et la continuite de cette meme question du pouvoir. L'on comprend des lors l'attitude du ps qui cherchera a marquer de plus en plus son independance vis-a-vis du gouvernement tout en souhaitant exercer un role d'influence.
