This work is about the discourse of the front national, its material genesis and its symbolic structure. It is divided into three parts. The first one, dealing with the prehistory of the fn, is a research in its cultural bases through the study of the parties, the unions and the newsletters which in the 1950's and the 1960's played an major role in the making up of its founders. The aim pf this part is to appreciate its discourse and its practices. In the second part, we try to understand the evolution of the discourse of the fn through the evolution of its management. This will allow us to show that the front is not the political expression of an ideological tradition ; on the opposite, the fn has created an elaborate tool of doctrinal thought to give a global meaning to its electoral success. The third part deals with the analysis of the discourse, the way it is articulated ans the way it is strategically adapted to the pressures of the political market. The observation of the actors, of their social, cultural and professional resources, of their personal evolution within and outside the party, as well as the observation of the party's position with regard to the policy, are more relevant than a genealogical study

Ce travail porte sur le discours du front national, sa genese materielle et sa structure argumentative. Il est divise en trois parties. La premiere, consacree a la prehistoire du fn, s'efforce d'en reperer les assises culturelles a travers l'examen des partis, syndicats et revues qui, dans les annees 1950-60, ont joue un role essentiel dans la formation de ses fondateurs. Ceci afin de prendre la mesure des mutations qui, a la fin des annees 80, ont affecte son discours et ses pratiques. Dans la deuxieme partie, nous tentons de saisir l'evolution du discours du fn a travers celle, fort accidentee, de son appareil dirigeant. Ce qui nous permet de montrer que le front n'est pas d'abord l'expression politique d'un courant de pensee ; c'est, a l'inverse pour donner une signification globale a sa reussite electorale qu'il s'est dote, apres coup, d'un outil sophistique de reflexion doctrinale. La troisieme partie concerne l'analyse du discours, ses mecanismes internes de prodiction et ses adaptations strategiques aux contraintes du marche politique. Plus que l'examen genealogique, c'est l'observation des locuteurs, de leurs ressources socio-culturelles, voire professionnelles, de leurs parcours personnel au sein comme a l'exterieur du parti, mais aussi de la position du groupe a l'egard du pouvoir central qui se revele la plus pertinente
