Abstract EN:

The chinese-iranian relations are studied hier from political, econpmical and cultural point of view. The preliminary part retrace briefly the historical background of the relations between Iran and China. The China's relationship with Imperial Iran, then with Islamic Iran are analysed respectively in the first and the second parts. The development of the sino-iranian relations is analysed within the context of international and domestic situation of them. Each of these periods show certain common features. The two states were the homes of two ancient cultures and civilisations of the east. Even though at times certains adventures (Muslim, Mongol) invaded and established their rule in Iran and China, the defeated people turned conquerors with their superior and synthesising cultures. Some common phenomena experienced by Iran and China in modern times are the degeneration and ultimate termination of the Ajar and Manchu dynasties, European intervention and imperialism, and the emergence of western-type nationalist movements. Thereafter, the common factor was the evolution of a highly centralised and personalised rule of two supreme leaders. Both revolutionary countries rose up against big-power hegemonies, before taking part to "south-south dialogue" and preparing themselves, as well as possible, to "North-South" confrontation.
