Thanks to its "open-door policy" and its economic reforms engaged since 1978, china has now become one of the largest recipients of foreign direct investments in the world. The foreign direct investments, which are often realized in the form of joint-ventures, play a very important role in the economic development of china and in its integration into the world economy. What are the policy and strategies of the chinese government with regard to foreign investors? which are the principals impacts of direct foreign investments on chinese economy? how to explain the influx of foreign investments into china? why and how to create joint-ventures in china? how to manage with success this special form of enterprise? these are the questions that we examine in the present thesis.

Grace a sa politique d'ouverture et ses reformes economiques menees depuis 1978, la chine est devenue aujourd'hui l'un des poles d'attraction majeurs des investissements directs etrangers. Ces derniers, realises souvent sous forme de societe conjointe (joint-venture), jouent un role tres important dans le developpement economique de la chine et dans son integration a l'economie mondiale. Quelles sont les politiques et strategies du gouvernement chinois vis-a-vis des investisseurs etrangers? quelle est l'ampleur du phenomene des investissements directs en chine? quels sont leur principaux impacts sur l'economie chinoise? comment expliquer cet afflux des investissements directs, notamment sous forme de societe conjointe en chine? comment creer une societe conjointe? comment gerer la reussite de cette forme specifique de l'entreprise? telles sont les questions que nous abordons dans cette these.
