The gulf of akaba and the straits of the red sea set up the problem of their juridical nature, this last one forms the subject of a study explained, according to the dispositions of the laws of sea applicable usually to the bays and the straits, and according to the confict, between israel and the arab states, whose divergence talking about the juridical nature of their waterways, doesn't keep onbeing the subject of important debates in an international plane.

Le golfe d'akaba et les detroits de la mer rouge posent le probleme de leur nature juridique, celle-ci fait l'objet d'une etude presentee selon les dispositions du droit de la mer applicable aux baies et aux detroits en general, et selon les donnees du conflit opposant israel aux pays arabes dont la divergence, portant sur la nature juridique de ces passages, n'a cesse de faire l'objet d'importants debats sur le plan international.
