The southeast asiean countries are not grouped in a unique organism of economic cooperation strictly limited to this area. In fact several systems exist for countries belonging to the asia-pacific zone, the main ones being the asean system and the apec system. The system of econmic cooperation in asia-pacific is essentially characterised by the weakness of the formal institutional parts and by the lack of coordination between the different organisations. Regarding commercial and industrial politics, several ongoing agreements will lead to a constitution of free trade areas in the near future. A monetary and financial cooperation has also taken place within the region. Regarding the regulations governing foreign investments, a balance has been achieved. These organisms of economic cooperation have also developed foreign relations, notably with the european union and nafta.

Les pays d'asie du sud-est ne sont pas regroupes dans un organisme de cooperation economique strictement delimite a cette region. Ils appartiennent a plusieurs systemes dont certains sont elargis a la zone asie-pacifique. Les plus importants sont l'assean et l'apec, le systeme de cooperation economique asie-pacifique est essentiellement caracterise par la faiblesse des cadres instituttionnels formels et par le manque de coordination entre les differentes organisations. Dans le cadre des problemes commerciales et industrielles, plusieurs accords de cooperation ont ete conclus conduisant a la constitution de zones de libre-echange dans un avenir proche. Une cooperation monetaire et financiere a egalement ete mise en place dans la region. Concernant ls reglementations regissant les investissements etrangers, une harmonisation a ete recemment effectuee. Ces organismes de cooperation economique ont egalement developpe leurs relations exterieures notamment avec l'union europeenne et le nafta.
