Burkina Faso’s economy is entirely dominated by agricultural activity which makes up almost 90 % of its exports and employs some 90 % of the working population. Given its importance therefore, it is not surprising there fore that it be un this sector that these is the most state intervention. L'économie du Burkina Faso est entièrement dominée par l'activité agricole qui constitue près de 90 % des exportations et occupe quelques 90 % de la population active. Compte tenu donc de son importance, il n'est donc pas étonnant que ce secteur soit celui ou l'intervention de l'état soit la plus importante. L'état interviendra soit pour susciter la production ou l'orienter, soit pour organiser la production et la distribution des denrées alimentaires. Cette intervention se traduira par la mise en œuvre d'une reforme agraire et foncière d'une part et d'autre part par d'autres actions sur les producteurs en assurant leur formation professionnelle, leur équipement et en réglementant la commercialisation des produits agricoles.
