Drugs intended for human medicine are potentially dangerous products to public health and must be placed under the permanent control of public authorities. The main objective of the administration is to guarantee the safety of consumers, who must not be faced with mindless health risks. The controls exerted over that are a particular application of the famous precautionary principle. Two types of controls are distinguished. On the one hand, the controls in the sense of constraints weighing on the medicines are various examinations, verifications and appreciations focused on the pharmaceutical specialities throughout their chain, from their conception to their surveillance on the market, having passed through their manufacture, their authorization and their marketing. On the other hand, there are controls which are related to the various responsibilities incurred in the domain of medicines, those that could be harmful.

Les médicaments destinés à la médecine humaine sont des produits potentiellement dangereux pour la santé publique et doivent être placés sous le contrôle permanent des autorités publiques. L'objectif principal de l'administration est de garantir la sécurité des consommateurs, ceux-ci ne devant pas se trouver face à des risques inconsidérés pour leur santé. Les contrôles exercés dans ce cadre sont une application particulière du fameux principe de précaution. Deux types de contrôles sont à distinguer. D'une part, les contrôles au sens de contraintes pesant sur les médicaments sont les différents examens, vérifications et appréciations portées sur les spécialités pharmaceutiques tout au long de leur chaîne, de leur conception à leur surveillance sur le marché en passant par leur fabrication, leur autorisation et leur commercialisation. D'autre part, il y a les contrôles qui sont liés aux diverses responsabilités encourues dans le domaine des médicaments, ceux-ci pouvant provoquer des dommages.
