Maritime cruise takes the place of classical carriage. Hence, the carriage of passengers by sea preserves its social and economical utility. The actual mutation does not however affect the existence of the risk which passenger encounter aboard. Eventualiby of personal injury of death of passenger exists constantly. The carrier's liability for such personal injury or death continue to be of special inportance. Carriage being frequently international, the determination of the law applicable to uch liability is of great importance especially in a contex where international unification of law has had but a limited success. The comparative study of the conditions, the extent and the enforcement of such liability is necessary to achieve a more efficient unification and to give a greater legal security to interested by way of a more solid knowledge of american, english, egyptian and french law.

Au transport utilitaire se substitue la croisiere maritime. Le transport maritime de passagers conserve donc son utilite socio-economique. La mutation en cours n'affecte cependant pas l'existence des risques que court le passager a bord. L'eventualite d'une lesion corporelle ou d'un accident mortel est toujours la. La responsabilite du transporteur pour pareille lesion ou mort reste un sujet d'importance. Le voyage etant souvent international, la determination de la loi applicable a cette responsabilite est d'une grande importance dans un contexte ou l'unification internationale du droit n'a pas remporte qu'un faible succes. L'etude comparative des conditions, de l'etendue et de la mise en oeuvre de la responsabilite est necessaire afin de promouvoir une unification plus efficace du droit et d'apporter aux interesses une plus grande securite juridique en les mettant a meme de connaitre leurs droits et obligations en droits americain, anglais, egyptien et francais.
