The international community is interested very early on in the chinese problem, which arises from the confrontation between two chinese personalities. Here, we try to understand, through the instruments of international law, how exchanges can have been made over fifty years between the French Republic and the Republic of China in retreat in Taiwan, within a context of bilateral and multilateral relationships. The complexity of the dense network between France and Taiwan is really exists and satisfies not only the individual interests of the two parties concerned, but furthermore those of continental China. Relationships between France and Taiwan consequently have to adapt to this threefold framework. Firstly, the relationship confronts France with the question of chinese politics and then with that of the chinese economic dimension. This approach also covers the relationship between France, as a member state of the EEC, with Taiwan, as the asiatic dragon of Pacific Asia, or rather, between Europe and Asia. Later on, the practicality of the franco-taiwanese co-operation evokes to us the extent to which the political aspect of certain exchanges brings about a reflection on french support solicited by Taiwan, who is doted with a new constitutional democratic regime.

L'arène internationale s'intéresse très tôt à la question chinoise, née de l'affrontement de deux personnalités chinoises. Il s'agit ici de comprendre comment, à travers les instruments du droit international, peuvent être réalisés pendant cinquante ans des échanges entre la République française et la République de Chine repliée à Taiwan, dans un contexte de relations bilatérales et multilatérales. La complexité du dense réseau tissé entre la France et Taiwan est réelle et répond non seulement aux intérêts particuliers des deux parties en présence, mais encore à ceux de la Chine c ntinentale. Les relations entre la France et Taiwan doivent donc nécessairement s'adapter à ce cadre tripartite. Dans un premier temps, l'approche de ces relations présente une France face à la question politique chinoise puis face à la dimension économique chinoise. Cette ébauche s'étend aussi aux relations existant entre la France, en tant qu'etat membre de la CEE, et Taiwan, dragon asiatique évoluant en Asie-Pacifique, c'est-à-dire entre l'Europe et l'Asie. Dans un deuxième temps, la pratique de la coopération franco-taiwanaise fournit l'occasion d'évoquer dans quelle mesure la politisation de certains échanges aboutit à une réflexion sur un soutien français sollicité par Taiwan, doté d'un nouveau régime constitutionnel démocratique.
