Connexity includes two parts of fonctions : on one hand, connexity has a unifying part as for as the private judicial law and the penal procedure are concerned, on the other hand, connity has a creative part, acting as the base of lien law, of non-execution exception, of a case of exceptional compensation, of some penal solidarity hypothesis, and, finally, in case a debtor should control his liability, and he could get rid of some particular contractual links connexity is a unit notion but it as two different aspects : the intellectual connexity is based on the notion of will the material connexity, on the other hand, has nothing to do with the individual will domain

En ce qui concerne les fonctions de la connexité, on peut les classer en deux catégories, laissant apparaître le rôle unificateur de la connexité dans le domaine du droit judiciaire prive et dans celui de la procédure pénale, et le rôle créateur de celle-ci en tant que fondement de l'exception d'inexécution, d'un cas de compensation exceptionnelle, de certaines hypothèses de solidarité pénale, de situations ou un débiteur peut maîtriser sa responsabilité et ou il peut se libérer de certains liens contractuels. La notion de connexité est unitaire, mais elle peut revêtir deux aspects différents. La connexité intellectuelle se fonde sur la notion de volonté, alors que la connexité matérielle se situe hors du domaine de la volonté des individus.
