The objective of this researchis to show the determinating role of costa rica in respect to the establishment of the interamerican system for the protection of human rights. In fact this country has deployed enormous efforts to ensure that the fundamental human rights are guaranteed internationally through a juridical system. The first part of the research shows how the interamerican systel for the protection of human rights was established (rrom the origins of the panamericanism to the signature of the american human rights convention). The second part concerns costa rica's role within the interamerican system. The juridical regime of the interamerican system for the protection of human rights has in fact be improved due to the initiatives of this particular country.

Cette these a pour objectif de souligner le role determinant du costa rica dans l'instauration du systeme interamericain de protection des droits de l'homme. Ce pays a en effet, deploye d'enormes efforts afin que les droits fondamentaux de la personne humaine soient aussi garantis au niveau international par un regime juridique. La premiere partie de la these montre comment s'est instaure le rgime interamericain de protection des droits de l'homme (depuis les origines du panamericanisme jusqu'a la signature de la convention americaine des droits de l'homme) la deuxieme partie concerne plus precisement le role du costa tica dand le systeme interamericain. Ainsi, le regime juridique interamericain de protection des droits de l'homme s'est complete et ameliore grace aux initiatives de ce pays.
