Abstract EN:

The cfdt, a french reformist trade union, has, since its creation in 1964, always supported the construction of europe, and considers it to be one of the political areas in which trade unionist activities should intervene. The fgrench group of affiliated trade unions has therefore developped a specifically european policy in order to be able to help solve problems caused by the implementation of the domestic market. However, the unionist conception of the cfdt is not restricted to only defending the immediat interest of salaried employees. The unionist organization has equally set it self goals of social transformation. The cfdt plans to play this reforming role for the entire community and is therefore proposing a unionist progtamme which tales all the european problems into account. The french group of affiliated trade unions thus demands the implementation of a democratic and social management of the free-market economy. This concept allows the cfdt to have a both unionist fonction of defending the interest of salaried employees as well being able to make proposals. In order to realize its many goals, the cfdt has, in a very original way, developped a unionist practice adapted to what the european unionist action needs. This particular strategy is a matter for interunionist cooperation and institutional participation. The cfdt's commitment to europe passed from the cftd (the organization it springs from), is therefore structured and coherent and is based on the elaboration of specifically european way of thinking and unionist practice
