The Toulouse market was the first commercial jurisdiction in the kingdom established, in july 1549 by Henri II, to give the town a market so that the merchants would have a place where they could meet in order to actively trade. It was only then, that they are abble to establish a consular jurisdiction whose principal prerogative was to settle all the commercial disputes between merchants. However, the merchants of Toulouse ignored the benefits of an exchange place and preoccupied themselves essentially with the putting in place of the consular jurisdiction, so much so, that in the XVIII century, the activity of the market was principally jurisdiction.

La Bourse de Toulouse fut la première juridiction commerciale du royaume établie, au mois de juillet 1549 par Henri II, afin que les marchands aient un lieu où ils puissent se rencontrer pour commercer activement. Ce ne fut qu' ensuite qu' il établissait une juridiction consulaire chargée de trancher en premier ressort tous les différends commerciaux nés entre marchands. Cependant, les marchands toulousains délaissèrent les bienfaits d' une place de change et se préoccupèrent essentiellement de mettre en place la juridiction consulaire, si bien qu'au XVIIIe siècle, l' activité de la Bourse était principalement judiciaire.
