Abstract EN:

The autor begins with the description of natural environment in the coastal region (land and sea), and shows the implications with fishing and tourism development. Then his analysis deals with the special organisation of fishing various activities, the different sorts of boats and fishermen, with the various forms of tourism and their implications toward local populations and town organisation, and with the frailty of coastal ponds and beaches. In these french "regions" (taken in its political and administrative meaning) of languedoc and roussillon, some regional plans have been decided ten years ago or so, with the hope to adapt tourism and local organisation. This physical planning has not been really successfull : it cannot avoid competition and difficulties between fishing and fishermen on one hand and tourism, tourists and touristic equipment on the other. The last part of this these is dealing with the analysis of these difficulties coming from the usefull but somewhat irritating contact of fishing and tourism, whose utility is not the same for every part of the local population.

Apres avoir caracterise le milieu naturel, specialement sous l'angle de la peche et du tourisme, l'auteur analyse les deux aspects essentiels du sujet : la peche avec ses diverses caracteristiques techniques et sociales, puis le tourisme avec sa rapide expansion dans le milieu fragilise des etangs et des littoraux sableux. Cette region du languedoc-roussillon a deja fait l'objet de plusieurs plans d'amenagement visant a l'insertion du tourisme dans le milieu local. Ces plans n'ont pas empeche le developpement de situations conflictuelles. Ce sont ces aspects conflictuels qui constituent les derniers chapitres de la these (conflits et aspects pervers dans le milieu local), avec les effets sur le milieu naturel, sur la peche, sur la societe, sur le potentiel biologique, sur l'economie ou les micro-economies.
