The country is a notion which periodically reappears when there is a strong research for identity. The country, this is a strongly suitable space which makes arise a feeling of membership to the social group that lives here. The biterrois fits well to this notion of country. His territory can identify itself with from activities of social group and vineyard and urban dynamic in particular. The dense relationship which exists between the space and the society inside the society made arise here effective solidarities and a collective memory on which the identity feeds itself. The biterrois country system which seems today be breaking up bears in itself the elements of a new system in gestation less based on the vineyard and more open to the outside, the region, europe but where the continuation is assured by the local identity elements.

Le pays est une notion qui resurgit periodiquement lordqu'il y a une recherche forte d'une identire. Le pays, c'est un espace fortement approprie qui fait naitre chez le groupe social qui y vit un sentiment d'appartenance. Le biterrois correspond bien a cette notion de pays. Son territoire peut s'identifier a partir des activites du groupe social et notamment la vigne et la dynamique urbaine. Les interelations denses qui exisent entre l'espace et la societe, a l'interieur de la societe, ont fait naitre ici des solidarites efficaces et une memoire collective dont se nourrit l'identite. Le systeme du pays biterrois qui semble se demanteler aujourd'hui porte en lui les elements d'un nouveau systeme en gestation, moins base surla vigne et plsu ouvert vers l'exterieur, la region, l'europe, mais ou la continuite est assuree par les elements de l'identite locale.
