Penser l'école et la constuction de savoirs : étude menée auprès d'adolescents cancéreux hospitalisés au Brésil

The sick children of cancer very often stop their schooling. Certain hospitals offer school interventions to compensate for this need. This research was carried out in a Brazilian hospital with five cancerous adolescents. The methodology chosen in this work was clinical interview in order to know their opinion on the school in hospital. The adolescents do not see the scholar intervention in hospital like schooling and they do not want to be schooled. The adolescents showed a strong desire of talking about the situation they are going through. They wish to return to past and the wound of their present. By the word, they get a feeling of indignation and create the power to resist despite everything. They resist the changes operated in their life by the disease, in the process that I have called "écrouissage", independently of living or dying. They showed that there is a life during cancer, a learning life.

Les enfants malades de cancer très souvent interrompent leur scolarisation. Certains hôpitaux offrent des interventions scolaires pour compenser ce manque. Cette recherche fut réalisée dans un hôpital brésilien auprès de cinq adolescents cancéreux. La méthodologie choisie dans ce travail a été l'entretien clinique afin de connaître leur avis sur l'école en hôpital. Les adolescents ne voient pas l'intervention scolaire en hôpital comme scolarisation et ils ne cherchent pas à être scolarisés. Les adolescents démontrèrent un fort désir de parler de la situation qu'ils vivent. Ils désirent revenir au passé et mettent en relief leur présent. Par la parole, ils éprouvent un sentiment d'indignation et développent des forces pour résister malgré tout. Ils résistent aux changements opérés dans leur vie par la maladie, dans le processus que j'appelai " écrouissage ", indépendamment du fait de survivre ou de mourir. Ils montrèrent qu'il existe une vie durant le cancer, une vie apprenante.
