The lebanese immigration in ivory coast, though more recent and at first limited, soon went through rapid changes. Originally circumscribed to the colony's former capitals and then to the neighbouring areas, the lebanese immigrants soon spread all over the country. They concentrated mostly in abidjan and the forest area, yet their density varies according to the distribution of coffee-cocoa pioneer fronts. As these moved from east to west, so did the lebanese. The south-west's huge potential and the crisis in the former productive areas in the east combine to spread up this migratory process to the centre-west and mostly to the south-west. The links with the mother country tend to loosen as these immigrants get integrated. The original labour immigration has given way to a quite permanent settlement.

Plus tardive et plus faible au depart, l'immigration libanaise en cote d'ivoire a connu une evolution tres rapide. Localises dans les ex-capitales de la colonie, puis aux alentours, les immigres libanais ont progressivement investi les autres regions du pays. Avec une nette concentration a abidjan et dans la zone forestiere. On observe toutefois, des disparites au sein de cette zone, en fonction des fronts pionniers cafe-cacao. Aux deplacements successifs de ceux-ci, d'est en ouest, correspond la mobilite des libanais. Les enormes potentialites du sud-ouest et les difficultes des anciennes regions productrices de l'est se combinent pour accelerer ce processus migratoire vers le centre-ouest et surtout vers le sud-ouest. Les relations avec le pays d'origine ont tendance a se distendre, du fait de l'integration. De l'immigration de travail au depart, on est passe a une immigration quasi-definitive.
