The family constitutes the place of elaboration from the social link because she offers space where the child can take roots in story and filiation and can be building in an affective mark. In the family, the child finds also the conjugality and parentality model of which enables to understand differences. The tension between man and woman, husband and wife, father and mother makes it possible for the child to elaborate a sexual identity. According to the duty of rootedness and identity building, the family must also educate the child in a goal of emancipation. So, it does'nt need only one principle where the child wild be moulded into, but, on the contrary, in the tension between different principles, the family find the exigency of a real educative practice.

La famille constitue le lieu d'élaboration du lien social dès lors qu'elle offre un espace où l'enfant peut s'enraciner dans une origine, une histoire, une filiation et se construire dans une empreinte affective. Dans la famille, l'enfant appréhende également un modèle de conjugalité et de parentalité qui ouvre à la différence. Et c'est la tension entre l'homme et la femme, le père et la mère, qui rend possible une véritable élaboration identitaire et sexuelle. Parallèlement à ce devoir d'enracinement et de construction identitaire, la famille doit également viser, par son action éducative, à l'émancipation de l'enfant. Pour cela, il est important qu'elle ne se réfère pas à un principe éducatif unique dans lequel l'enfant serait moulé mais, qu'au contraire, elle mette en tension différents principes dans lesquels elle puiserait l'exigence d'une véritable pratique éducative.
