Abstract EN:

The sanitary situation in Africa is the aim of a lot of actions. One of the successes in prevention and sanitary education is the exemple of the catholic private dispensaries in Senegal. By studying health as a complicated element of a cultural system, we show that , behind the proper qualities of theses dispensaries, we must look for the conditions of the sanitary behaviouring change in the transformation of the interaction system of the designed social group. This transformation is the product of foreign constraining elements and inner elements of the system. The emigrated workers'situation is a good picture of it. By the comparative studying of two ethnic groups of economical immigrated people in France, we tend to show that sanitary education is subjected to complicated sociological mechanisms, especially in acculturation, and that it cannot be alone, mover of change in its sphere.

Abstract FR:

La situation sanitaire en Afrique fait l'objet d'interventions multiples. Un exemple de réussite en matière de prévention et d'éducation sanitaire est l'action des dispensaires prives catholiques au Sénégal. En étudiant la santé comme un élément complexe du système culturel d'une société, nous montrons qu'en deçà des qualités propres à ces dispensaires, les conditions du changement de comportement sanitaire sont à rechercher dans la transformation du système d'interactions du groupe social concerné. Cette transformation est le produit d'éléments étrangers contraignants et d'éléments intérieurs au système. La situation des travailleurs émigrés en est une bonne représentation. En faisant une étude comparative de deux groupes ethniques d'immigrés économiques en France, nous tendons à montrer que l'éducation sanitaire est soumise à des mécanismes sociologiques complexes, en particulier en matière d'acculturation, et qu'elle ne peut être à elle seule, moteur de changement dans son domaine.
