Ségrégation résidentielle et production du logement à Bogotá, entre images et réalités

The space of Bogotá is filled with a social signifiance that has been constructed with the social imaginary of a city in which there is a clear difference between a rich north and a poor south. Even greater than a perception, census data confirm the existence of this segregation. Nevertheless, between 1973 and 1993, the growth of the city has been accompanied by changes in the social composition and by an evolution of segregation at a micro level, especially for those households as the extreme ends of the social hierarchy. In this study, we use a diachronic, comparative and multi-scale approximation, together with : census data from 1973, 1985 and 1993 ; information collected during 56 interviews with housing producers concerning their own representation of segragation ; and information from legal documents and media articles. So many contrasts between realities and preceptions help deepening our understanding of the dynamic and the mechanisms involved in the process of segregation.

L'espace de Bogota est chargé d'une signification sociale construite à travers un imaginaire collectif opposant un nord riche à un sud pauvre. Au-delà de l'image, les données censitaires confirment l'existence d'une telle ségrégation. Cependant, de 1973 à 1993, la croissance de la ville s'est accompagnée de recompositions sociales et d'une évolution de la ségrégation à l'échelle micro, surtout pour les ménages aux extrémités de l'échelle sociale. Reposant sur une approche diachronique, comparative et multiscalaire, cette recherche a pour matériau empirique les données des recensements de 1973, 1985 et 1993 pour évaluer la ségrégation ; 56 entretiens réalisés auprès de producteurs de logement visant à comprendre leurs représentations de la ségrégation ; et des discours dans les textes juridiques et dans les articles de presse. Autant de confrontations entre réalités et images qui permettent d'approfondir les connaissances sur la dynamique et les mécanismes du processus ségrégatif.
