This study introduces the role of commerce and transport in the territorial organisation of the region of chiadma and haha. A territory that covers all the southern atlantic morrocan plains and the hights the atlas piedmont (6330 km2). Yet, its urbain system remains too weak and its economy encounters many difficulties hindering its progress because of the insufficience of the economic infrastructtructures, the archaic and traditional system of agriculture-productions and the absence of modern means of communication which explains the absence of a big flow of motorised means of transport. Administraters consider chiadma and haha as an homogenous administrative region. But for the local population, on the other hand, this entity is composed of two distinct areas. Moreover, when we analyse this area in terms of commecial exchange and means of transport, the borders of both zones impose a kind of radical modification. The point of this study is to demonstrate through analysing commercial zones of influence-meaning cites-,regional "souks", commercial circuits, and travelling means, that, commercially speaking, the region of chiadma and haha is deeply broken up. This is, also, because of the powerfull-growing neighbouring towns and built-up areas. Even essaouira, which is the region's biggest city, is still considered as secondary in the organisation of commercial regional exchanges.

Cette etude porte sur le role de commerce et des transports dans l'organisation de l'espace regional des chiadma et des haha ; un territoire qui couvre le sud des plaines atlantiques marocaines et le piemont du haut-atlas (6 330km2). Le reseau urbain de ce territoire est tres mediocre. Son economie rencontre des difficultes entravant son epanouissement, difficultes que l'on peut attribuer aux infrastructures economiques insuffisantes, au systeme de production agricole traditionnel et archaique, a sa mediocre penetration par des voies de communication modernes, d'ou il resulte une relle mediocrite des flux de transports motorises. . . Aux yeux des administrateurs, les chiadma et les haha constituent une region administrative homogene. Pour la population locale, la meme entite spatiale est composee de deux territoires distincts. Cepedant, quand on integre le critere des echanges commerciaux et de transport, les limites de ces territoires se modifient radicalement. C'est ce que cette etude essaye de demontrer en examinant le roledes echanges commerciaux et de transport dans l'organisation de l'espace regional. L'analyse des aires d'influence commerciale des villes et des souks de la region, celle des circuits commerciaux ainsi que l'etude des aires de deplacement grace aux moyens de transport motorises nous amenent a affirmer que les chiadma et les haha est un espace commercialement eclate a cause de la puissance des agglomerations commerciales des regions voisines. Quant a essaouira, la plus grosse ville de cette entite spatiale, elle tient une place secondaire dans l'organisation des echanges commerciaux regionaux.
