Abstract EN:

Corporal (or body) expression as a school subject is part of the physical education and sporting programme at school. The need for a theory and a definition of this idea has led us to a philosophical analysis of the concepts of the "body" and of "expression". Corporal expression, taking account of the whole being, facilitates the learning processes in junior school, and eases the child through the difficult transition from nursery school to primary school. It is the elementary, but fundamental, basis for all education whether corporal or not, because it is based on fundamental principles (body shape, space-time structuring, rhythm, sense of laterality, creativity, etc). The evaluation of this procedure is based above all on understanding the cognitive functioning of the pupil confronted by our teaching. The results of our evaluation lead us to pose questions on what situations favour learning.

L'expression corporelle comme discipline scolaire, fait partie du programme de l'education physique et sportive a l'ecole. La necessite d'une theorie et d'une definition de cette notion, nous a amenee a une analyse philosophique des notions du "corps" et d'"expression". L'expression corporelle, tenant compte de l'unite humaine, facilite les processus d'apprentissage au cours moyen, et favorise le difficile passage pour l'enfant de l'ecole maternelle a l'ecole primaire. Elle est la base elementaire, mais fondamentale de toute education corporelle ou non, puisqu'elle repose sur des principes fondamentaux (schema corporel. Structuration spatio-temporelle, rythme, lateralisation, creativite, etc). L'evaluation de cette demarche est basee surtout sur la comprehension du fonctionnement cognitif de l'eleve face a notre enseignement. Les resultats de notre evaluation nous incitent a nous interroger sur des situations favorables a l'apprentissage.
