This research work deals with the evolution of exchange policies between the European Union and countries of the south Mediterranean and particularly between the EU and Morocco. Do these changes contribute to the diminution of socio-spatial inequalities? Or, they enforced these inequalities by giving privilege to certain precise regions or segments of the social and economic life in Morocco? A historical overview was indispensable in order to study the evolution of these changes and their socio-spatial impact on the Moroccan territory. This thesis consists of two major parts. The first part deals with the determinants of the cooperation and the second part treat the realization of this cooperation. A precise report is accomplished in order to highlight the insufficiencies and point to malfunctioning issues.

La problématique abordée dans le cadre de ce travail concerne l’évolution des échanges entre l’Union Européenne (UE) et les pays au sud de la méditerranée et plus particulièrement entre l’UE et le Maroc. Ces échanges ont-ils participé à l’atténuation des inégalités socio-spatiales ? Ou bien les ont-elles renforcées en privilégiant des régions ou des segments précis de la vie économique et sociale ? Une relecture historique s’est naturellement imposée pour connaître l’évolution des échanges et leurs traductions socio-spatiales sur le terrain marocain. La thèse se compose de deux grandes parties. La première partie, traite des déterminants de la coopération et la seconde partie aborde la mise en œuvre de la coopération. Un bilan précis est effectué afin d’apprécier les insuffisances et repérer les dysfonctionnements.
