Since the beginning of the sixties, physical education aims at highlighting the pro cess of teaching the body by the person. The study of the socio-historic factors which have presided the emergence of new educational objective shows what is at stake as far as a physical education doctri ne is concerved the definition of such an educational aim,enable us to understand the development of these educational practises as well as the interest wich they represent for a certain number of scientific theories (neurosciences,psychology and psycho-analysis). The distorsion they undergo as well the impossibility for physical education doctrines to follow up this aim emerge from the study of these scientific theories which help to explain pedagogical theories. Finaly, the phenomenological ontology highlights the very emptines of the project. In order to justify their education effectiveness physical education doctrines will have to find they education ambitions in other directions.

L'education physique contemporaine vise depuis le debut des annees soixante un apprentissage du corps par le sujet. L'etude des determinants socio-historiques qui ont preside a l'emergence de cette visee educative novatrice montre les enjeux que represente, pour une doctrine d'education physique, la definition d'un tel objectif educatif, nous permet de comprendre le sens de l'evolution de ces pratiques educatives et l'interet des theoriciens pour un certain nombre de theories scientifiques (neurosciences,sciences psychologiques et psychanalyse). L'examen de ces theories scientifiques qui servent a etayer les discours pedagogiques laisse apparaitre les distorsions qu'elles subissent et l'impossibilite dans laquelle se trouvent les doctrines d'education physique de poursuivre cet objectif. Enfin, une ontologie phenomenologique de l'objet releve la vacuite meme du projet. Les doctrines d'education physique devront orienter leurs ambitions educa tives dans d'autres directions pour justifier leur efficacite educative.
