Coming from a country of old migratory and commercial tradition, the lebanese presente a new type of immigrants in france. The civil war in 1975 led to the arrival of a successive waves of lebanese and the the rapid development of certain lebanese economic activities specailly in tertiary sector. The gorgraphic distribution of lebanese in the french space is strongly bound to this specialization the lebanese immigration gives the example of an immigration initially of investment. The installation of restaurants, journals banks and other lebanese entreprises in france constitue a "transposition" of an economy specialized in the commerce, the finance, the services, and the cultural tradition of homeland. The development of lebanese tertiary sector in france reflets the image of a dynamic and enterprising community. This explains its good socio-economic insertion. The specific socio-professional structure of this immigration, the different forms of cooperation inside the lebanese commercial system, its perfect communal functioning based on famikly denominational or geographic this which stimulate more the dynamisme of this system and consolidate its succes. No other small forgien community has such important economic base or investes so much capitals. Favoured by the multiplication of their investments, the lebanese of france play a positive role in the french economy.

Originaires d'un pays vieille tradition migratoire et commerciale , les libanais representent un nouveau type d'immigrants en france. Le declenchement en 1975 de la guerre civile au liban a entraine l'arrivee de vagues successives de libanais et ensuite de developpement rapide de certains activites economiques libanaises, notamment tertiaires. La repartition geographique des libanais, a l'echelle nationale et locale, est donc fortement liee a cette specialisation. L'immigration libanaise donne l'exemple d'une immigration initialement d'investissement. L'installation en france des restaurants, des journaux, des banques et d'autres entreprises libanaises constitue une "transposition" d'une economie specialisee dans le commerce, la finance et les services, et de la tradition culturelle du pays d'origine. La floraison de l'appareil tertiaire libanais en france reflete l'image d'une communaute dynamique et entreprenante et traduit sa bonne insertion socio-economique. La structure socio-professionnelle specifique de cette immigration, les differentes formes de cooperation a l'interieur de l'appareil commercial libanais, son parfait fontionnement communautaire base sur des liens familiaux, confessionnels ou geographiques ne font qu'activer de dynamisme de cet appareil et consolider sa reussite. Aucune communaute etrangere ne possede une base economique aussi importante, ni n'investit autant de capitaux avec une population somme toute peu nombreuse.
