My research embodies three thematic fields related to economic analysis in the local public sector. The first area, oriented toward a methodological approach, deals with the organization of financial data concerning local authorities (house hold income, local book-keeping) and opens up on the elaboration and exploitation of a database covering the whole aquitaine region. The second area of research tends to analyse the macro-economic conditions that determine the evolution of the system of local financing (loans, grants, taxes) since the crisis. Thirdly, the research concentrates on the analysis of the theoretical conditions that preside to a satisfactory politico-administrative organization of metropolitan areas. It also attempts to benefit from the experience derived from one specific formula : the "communaute urbaine".

Les travaux recouvrent trois axes de travail relatifs à l'analyse économique du secteur public local. Le premier, à dominante méthodologique, développe les manières d'organiser les donnees financieres concernant les communes (revenu des menages, comptes communaux) et debouche sur la construction et l'exploitation d'une base de donnees etendue a l'ensemble de la region aquitaine. La deuxieme orientation de travail a consiste a reperer et a analyser les logiques macroeconomiques qui ont conditionne l'evolution du systeme de financement local (emprunts, dotations de fonctionnement, fiscalite) depuis la crise. Le troisieme theme s'applique a analyser les conditions theoriques d'une organisation politico-administrative des agglomerations economiquement satisfaisante et a tirer les enseignements de l'experimentation d'une formule : la communaute urbaine.
