The study analyses the impact of technological changes on the competitiveness of greek manufacturing industry during 1970-1986. The analysis is based on the one hand on the process of the integration of the greek economy into the international division of production and on the other hand on the process of modernisation of the greck industry. During the economic crisis the intensification of the internationalisation of the greek economy was followed by an increase in its technological dependency, a narrowing of the production system and a deterioration in external trade balance. The worsening of structural problems blocked the process of technological change in greek industry. Against this background the study examines the impact of the widening of the globalisation process of world trade (production and technics) and the structural changes on greek industrial competitiveness, stressing the evolution of the comparative advantage and the increase in production costs because of the high technologically - intensive inputs.

L'etude analyse l'impact des mutations technologiques sur la competitivite de l'industrie manufacturiere grecque au cours de la periode 1970-1986. L'analyse suivie s'est appuyee d'une part sur le processus d'integration de l'economie grecque dans la division mondiale de la production et d'autre part sur le processus de modernisation de l'industrie grecque. Pendant la crise l'intensification de l'internationalisation de l'economie grecque a ete accompagnee d'une aggravation de sa dependance technologique, d'un retrecissement du systeme productif et d'un alourdissement de la "contrainte exterieure. L'aggravation des problemes structurels ont bloque le processus des mutations technologiques dans l'industrie grecque. Dans ce sens l'etude examine l'impact de l'approfondissement du processus de mondialisation des echanges ( de la production et des techniques ) et des mutations structurelles sur la competitivite de l'industrie grecque en mettant l'accent sur l'evolution des avantages comparatifs et l'alourdissement du cout de production a cause des inputs d'intensite technologique elevee.
