On this study the program of alcohol production in brazil as a substitute for petroleum is analysed. Among the various topics concerning the alcohol production we emplorize those which deal with the political alliances which supported the program, the costs of developing the cost program, the evolution of the production costs, and an analysis of the role which such program might represent to brazilien economy.

Dans cette etude on analyse le programme de production d'alcool carburant au bresil en substitution au petrole. Parmi les innombrables questions relatives a production de l'alcool, on traite de la dynamique de formation des alliances qui ont supporte la production de l'alcool au bresil, la question de son cout de production, les perspectives d'evolution du cout de production, et une analyse prospective sur le role qu'il pourra venir jouer dans le futur.
