The instance of the boko fruit project illustrates the importance of the people's participation in the successor failure of project of development. That project aims particularly at the increase of fruit and market gardening production, integrating that objective into the whole of development problem's of the pool area. The taking part of the people in the different phases of the project (conception, carrying out and functioning) allowed to reach the greatest part of the starting aims. The project has been accepted because it comes up to expectations of the people and not exclusively to the developer's rationality.

L'exemple du projet fruitier de boko illustre l'importance de la participation populaire dans la reussite ou l'echec du projet de developpement. Ce projet vise notamment l'augmentation de la production fruitiere et maraichere, en integrant cet objectif a l'ensemble des problemes de developpement de la region du pool. La participation des populations aux differentes phases du projet (elaboration, realisation et fonctionnement) a permis d'atteindre la majeure partie des objectifs de depart. Le projet a ete accepte parce qu'il repond aux attentes des populations et non pas seulement a la rationalite des developpeurs.
